In addition to puppies we always have a few "teen" and adult dogs available to place in awesome homes!

Burning River Kennels is located near Johnstown, Colorado. Our philosophy is to breed true to the Johnson type American Bulldogs. We strive to give each dog and puppy individualized care, love and attention. Our goal is to breed healthy, vigorous American Bulldogs with exceptional temperaments. We have been breeding, showing and working with American Bulldogs for over 20 years!

The original essential characteristics of the American Bulldog allowed it to be used as a wild game hunting dog and a protector of personal property. These tasks required a powerful, agile, confident dog with a large head and powerful jaws. Today the American Bulldog is a gentle, loving, faithful family companion who is also fearless enough to face an angry bull or a human intruder who messes with their family. In today's world the American Bulldog can be found performing many duties; show dog, pulling dog, protection dog, babysitting the children.

But please be aware that American Bulldogs are strong willed, intelligent, stubborn and tenacious, they make great companions for active families or owners who can keep up with their athletic natures. Agility, obedience, weight-pulling, tracking, running, hiking, Schutzhund work are all good choices for keeping an American Bulldog in top physical condition as well as mentally fit. Of course, they can be big couch potatoes too!
